After popularity worldwide, Bikram Hot Yoga launches its studio in the land of its origin. This form of yoga was developed by Bikram Choudhury, multi-millionaire Bengali Yoga Guru who synthesized from traditional Indian Hatha Yoga techniques beginning in the early 1970s.

This conventional form of yoga popularized in Europe and eventually reached Hollywood where Choudhary trained international celebrities like Kareem Abdul Jabaar, Kobe Bryant, David Beckham, Lady Gaga, Ashton Kutcher, Robbie Williams, Charles Barkley, Jennifer Farley, Lacey Turner and the likes.

The classes run exactly ninety minutes and consist of a set series of twenty-six postures and two breathing exercises. “It is ideally practiced in a room heated to 105°F with a humidity of forty percentages and a series of yoga poses chosen accordingly to provide maximum relaxation to the human body,” explained Rajashree Choudhury, wife of Bikram Choudhury.

Closer to home, Sonam Kapoor with father Anil Kapoor uses this technique to keep them fit. Needless to say, this very effective form of hot yoga classes was much anticipated in Mumbai for la Tinsel town luminaries.

Classes are currently held at 6.30am, 11.30am and 6.30pm on Weekdays and 8am and 5pm on Weekends in their Turner Road, Bandra West branch. For more information, log on to or call @ 02231900201 / 02232980201.
