India Kids Fashion Week 2012 kick-started with style and oomph. Madhura Sansare & Anita Balsara divulges how Dia Mirza, Tisca Chopra, Sandeep Soparkar & Rubina encouraged the leading designers to showcase their kid’s collection for the first time…

One of the most eagerly awaited fashion events took off with a fabulous start in Tinsel town at the Lalit Intercontinental on January 17, 2012. For the first time kids were seen walking the ramp with such confidence, style, panache and attitude.

IKFW 2012 was truly a kid’s world to see cute adorable toddlers in trendy and colorful designer ensembles and edible organic make-up. The shows on Day 1 included Hot Wheels by Mattell & Cloths designed by Narendra Kumar, Beebay by Monica Jain, Mineral by Rajul & Priyadarshani Rao, Just for Kids, Sonali Mansingka, Monnalisa and the coveted Rocky S.

The fashion week stared with one of the biggest toy brands Hot Wheels by Mattell & Cloths designed by Narendra Kumar. The kids zoomed in on the ramp on skateboard and synchronized dance steps. Tisca Chopra walked the ramp for Sonali Mansingka to inspire the kids. Sandeep Soparkar came along with his son Arjun & Jesse Randhawa for the brand Just for Kids.

Rubina, the child artist from Slumdog Millionaire was a part of the international brand Monnalisa’s show. At the days finale Rocky S showcased his collection in the hues of black, white, light pinks, grey and maroons. His collection was marvelous and was appreciated by all. To encourage him Dia Mirza brightened up the ramp in an elegant white gown, a sweet smile and radiant skin that left everyone in awe.
