Lakmé Fashion Week selects 11 New Faces for Summer/Resort 2012. Vogue+ Correspondents Madhura Sansare & Sujo Mathew witnessed over 362 male and female model applications from across the world at the LFW auditions…

Lakme Fashion Week Summer / Resort 2012 Model Auditions saw an overwhelming response from male and female models from across India and other countries. After a four season hiatus, LFW re-introduced Male Model auditions and received over 240 male models applicants and over 122 female model applicants to walk the ramp. Lakmé Fashion Week announced a total of 11 new faces for this season – 7 female and 4 male models.

Each finalist was shortlisted after three intense rounds of judging by an esteemed panel of judges. The jury this season consisted of some of the most experienced and well-known members of the Indian fashion industry that included supermodel Nina Manuel, show directors Anu Ahuja, Lubna Adams & Shy Kalra, photographer Farrokh Chotia, designer Narendra Kumar,  designer & stylist Aki Narula along with Anjana Sharma, Director Fashion, IMG Reliance.

Lakmé Fashion Week has always recognized new talent across different facets of fashion and the model auditions have set a benchmark in the industry. “What makes LFW Model auditions exceptional is the fact that today the platform has expanded itself to the metros and mini-metros in India. With every season, we see a rise in young talent that is enthusiastic and energetic,” concluded a confident Sharma.
