Fashion and Art for a Noble Cause…

VoguePlus writes about the experience –

iDiva’s The Heroes Project

Recently, I was invited by my dear friend Fashion Designer Aarti Vijay Gupta for an iDiva‘s event at Courtyard By Marriott (CM). The event was dedicated to Breast Cancers Winners, who has survived through all odds.

This was ex-Miss Universe Gul Panag, actress Tisca Chopra and Chandrashekhar Joshi of CM who stood by the Breast Cancer Survivors…

This entire event was the brainchild of Shweta Nair, the young and talented Editor-in-Chief of iDiva.Com. Shweta was the sweetest of the lot, who welcomed me and my friend Designer Felix Bendish and told us more about the initiative. She showed us around the painting Suchitra Krishnamoorthi that she gifted iDiva to auction for the noble cause. In fact, I suggested her if she can take more designers and artists for the cause, it will be an opportunity for the fashion fraternity to give something back to the society. Shweta agreed and promised that next year, she will make this initiative a bigger one. I wish her all success for that!

Shweta next took us around, and this is the amazing painting by Suchitra Krishnamoorthi that depicted femininity. The picture in the left is of my dear friend Aarti Vijay Gupta who especially made this beautiful dress, gave it for auction and contributed to the noble cause…

Well, this young and talented girl, Lisabelle Gonsalves, the Content Head for iDiva was in her toes throughout the event. Lis was playing the perfect host, and first thing she did when I and Felix entered was pin Pink Ribbon that marked our support for the cause. Here, Lis pins the Pink Ribbon on Tisca who too showed up to support the women.

Here are some more pics of city’s luminaries who came to support the cause –

I met my old friend Suchitra (Pillai) with her baby who came to support the cause. Suchitra was rather happy to see me and that I am finally back in Bombay after six long months… Suchitra sported pink too and I felt happy that she got her kid too, early start for a kid to be a part of a noble cause…

Before we head for Luncheon at Red Zen, I bumped into another friend of mine – Sona (Mohapatra). Sona too wore pink and came to show her support. We chatted latter while having lunch and she explained how she feels nice to be able to come and lend a hand for this initiative.

This is my appeal to my dear friends and all readers, that do log on to and read more about Breast Cancer, and help them take this initiative to the next level… I wish dear Shweta, Lis and the entire iDiva team a Huge Success…
